So you’ve purchased a potentially life-saving defibrillator device from us and you’re fully prepared to help save the life of someone who has suffered a sudden cardiac arrest – however you will always need the batteries to make it work.

At defibshop, we have got you covered when it comes to all things batteries.

Lifespan of an AED battery

As there are so many defibrillator models and factors which can affect the life of a battery, it is impossible for us to give you a solid battery life for any particular AED. The determining factors being:

Make and model: different defibrillators require different amounts of battery power to keep them running and rescue ready throughout the day.

Usage: Quite obviously, the more times you use the defibrillator, the more battery power is going to be used. If the unit is not used, the only way battery power is drained from the unit is through regular self-tests and checks to make sure the unit is always ready to rescue.

Expiry Dates: With different manufacturers utilising different batteries for their defibrillators, they all have varying expiry dates. We recommend having a spare battery on hand just in case you are not aware of the expiry date and it can be immediately replaced should the defibrillator fail to indicate rescue ready status.

Battery Reminder Service

When you purchase a defibrillator unit from us, you can register both the battery and defibrillator with us and we can send you reminders when the battery is expiring. This way you don’t have to worry about remembering dates and battery numbers, instead we’ll sort this out for you and let you know what products you need and when to keep your defibrillator up to date and rescue ready.
